This grant funding is for homeowners of historic houses in Stamford’s South End neighborhood. As the result of a Mitigation agreement between the State Historic Preservation Office and developer Building and Land Technology, $100,000 is available through Preservation Connecticut to provide capital funding for historic preservation projects for owner occupied-homes or small multi-unit buildings that are contributing resources to the South End National Register Historic District.

The money will fund rehabilitating facades of historic structures. The grant funds will be awarded exclusively to work needed on the exterior of the building that follows Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Work can be siding, painting, roof, soffit, porch and wood window repair (not replacement), storm windows, and Façade upgrades.

  • Each applicant can request a maximum of $10,000.
