A gifted speaker and noted authority on all things related to Phineas Taylor Barnum, Kathy has 35 years of experience working at museums and is celebrating 24 years at the historic Barnum Museum. Throughout her career, she has envisioned, authored, and implemented numerous award-winning exhibitions and programs that explore a variety of 19th-century social historical themes and events, but she is most known for her disaster recovery efforts, saving the historic Barnum Museum from the ravages of an EF1 tornado, and both Hurricane Irene and Super Storm Sandy.  2020 has brought the challenge of Covid-19 Response and Recovery initiatives that will redefine how the Barnum Museum of the future will re-imagine audience engagement. Maher is an advocate and speaks at conferences throughout the United States.  Promoting the power of historic preservation, arts, cultural heritage, and tourism as stimulus for urban revitalization, economic growth and development, and community engagement, Maher actively works to integrate environmental, social, and governance responsibilities into the core principles of the Museum and attractions industry.
