The City of Norwich seeks proposals from parties interested in acquiring a vacant municipal property located at 98 Washington Street, known as the Dr. Patrick Cassidy House, to rehabilitate and adaptively use it in compliance with the City of Norwich Zoning Regulations for the Chelsea Central (CC) Zoning District. The CC permits a multitude of uses including commercial and mixed-use which are listed in the Norwich Zoning Regulations.
The Cassidy house is a contributing resource in the Chelsea Parade National Register district and is eligible for State and Federal historic rehabilitation tax credits. The city intends to donate a preservation easement to Preservation Connecticut, which will protect the exterior and certain interior features of the house.
