Join us on Wednesday October 11th at noon to hear about the recent work of PCT interns to document sites listed in the The Negro Traveler’s Green Book. Published from 1938 to 1966, this publication provided information on hotels, salons, restaurants and other services that welcomed African Americans during Jim Crow. Though less dangerous than in the South, discrimination was not absent in New England states, and Connecticut had around 120 business listings over the years. PCT Staff will present background and several interesting sites that were researched for this project from all over Connecticut.
