October 13th: Uncovering the Battle of Ridgefield

David Naumec, Ph.D, Military Historian, Heritage Consultants

On April 27, 1777, British troops marched through and raided Ridgefield on their return to ships off Westport. Over 250 years later, skeletons belonging to fallen soldiers during the battle were discovered leading the Ridgefield Historical Society to further study the events that transpired. Now, with a grant from the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program and an advisory committee formed, the work has begun. Join us on Wednesday, October 13th when we will be joined by Military Historian, David Naumec to talk about the findings so far and how that has enhanced their understanding of what occurred in 1777.
