Join us on Wednesday, June 2nd at noon for a presentation on a favorite landscape feature in Connecticut- stone walls! Robert Thorson, author of Exploring Stone Walls: A Field Guide to New England’s Stone Walls, Stone by Stone: The Magnificent History in New England’s Stone Walls, and Stone Wall Secrets will share his knowledge of these often overlooked works of art that are so integral to the historic landscape of New England. 

Bio: Robert Thorson is a professor and interim Head of geosciences at the University of Connecticut, where he juggles administration, teaching, research, mentoring, and community engagement. He’s a Midwestern native, turned Western geologist, turned Eastern academic. His current scholarly interest is the interweave between environmental history, literature, and the Anthropocene Epoch. He continues to profess at the University of Connecticut.
