April 19th: Finding Lustron Houses
Angie Hein and Mary Moran, Researchers
Please join us for a fun kick-off program as two dedicated researchers share their updated survey of Lustron houses in Connecticut. Lustrons were porcelain and steel kit houses created as an answer to the post-World War II housing boom. With manufacturing methods born of the automobile age, Lustrons were a short lived but much beloved housing type. Angie and Mary will provide some historical background and insight into where these porcelain and steel “houses of tomorrow” can be found in our state.
