EDR’s Cultural Resources practice is focused on the responsible and respectful stewardship of historic properties. Our architectural historians and historic preservation professionals assist private landowners, corporations, nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and agencies in identifying, evaluating, documenting, planning, and stewarding historic buildings, structures, landscapes, and districts.
EDR’s senior cultural resources staff meet the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards in architectural history, history, historic architecture, and archaeology. Our team is experienced in Section 106 consultation, historic and architectural resource surveys, National Register of Historic Places evaluations and nominations, historic rehabilitation tax credit applications, historic preservation planning, and the development of avoidance and mitigation strategies.
As a multidisciplinary environmental design firm, EDR integrates historic preservation expertise with landscape architecture, planning, engineering, environmental permitting, visualization, and GIS to provide practical, thoughtful solutions that balance preservation goals with contemporary project needs.
