The Wilton Historic District & Historic Property Commission invites firms to submit a proposal in response to Request for Proposals # 2026-0010. This RFP represents the first of distinct and exciting opportunities related to the G & B Schoolhouse, 49 New Street Wilton, CT. The focus of this first engagement is a Conditions Assessment Report, funded through a $20,000 Historic Preservation Enhancement Grant award.
A wealth of existing reports and background materials that will serve as a strong foundation for this work. The primary goal is a fresh assessment through a historic preservation lens with heightened attention to the most critical areas of concern: the roof and basement. Should budget permit, they would also welcome an overview conditions assessment of two alternates (872 Danbury Rd & 31 New Street), adjacent town owned properties under consideration for future planning as detailed in the RFP.
