The Town of Branford is seeking qualified development teams to redevelop two prominent town-owned properties (also both contributing resources to the Branford Center National Register Historic District!) that offer unique opportunities to revitalize key areas of the community.
- 1111 Main Street: Located at the corner of Main Street and Montowese Road, this former U.S. Post Office (built c.1920s) sits on 0.57 acres and presents an exciting chance to breathe new life into a historic Building in the heart of Branford’s Town Center.
- 11 Cherry Hill Road: A former schoolhouse and senior center on 0.79 acres, this property lies on the western edge of the Town Center, just ½ mile from the Branford Train Station and Exit 53 of I-95—a prime location for transit-oriented development.
Proposals should align with the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development and Zoning Regulations, and:
-
Celebrate Branford’s historic charm and coastal New England identity
-
Emphasize pedestrian connectivity to neighborhoods, downtown, and transit
-
Support local business growth, mixed-use, and job creation
-
Advance attainable housing for a diverse range of households
